Even though it is not an Olympic year, the Oregon Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams will again have Strength in Numbers for the NCAA Championships.

There is a reason that Eugene, Oregon is Tracktown USA and it seems every year the teams do not disappoint. Oregon returns to Hayward Field with a total of 31 participants looking to become the best in College Athletics. 17 Women and 14 Men, including some new faces will look to take home a Championship.

Chaquin Cook(Triple Jump) is one of those new faces. She had a lifetime best 44-4 to go with Raevyn Rogers(800 Meters) who will compete in two weeks. Rogers had the second best time in the 800 Meters at the NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas. The Oregon Ducks have had two potential participants go down with injuries.

Last week, Edward Cheserek strained his lower back and will no longer compete this season, ending his College Career with 17 NCAA Titles. Hannah Cunliffe who had a stellar Indoor season was scratched from the 100 and 200 Meters and will have her Outdoor season come to an end.

On the track, the usual names will look for a Championship with Deajah Stevens, Alaysha Johnson, and Sasha Wallace, and Arianna Washington making their way into the 100 Meter and 200 Meter Championship Semifinals.

Joe Delgado and Mitch Modin will anchor the Oregon Ducks in the Decathalon, both much improved from last season.
