Following the season and the departures of Tyler Dorsey, Dillon Brooks, Jordan Bell, and Chris Boucher to the NBA Draft and Casey Benson transferring it was clear the Head Coach Dana Altman had some work to do. On Monday, the job became more difficult with the transfer of big man Kavell Bigby-Williams to the LSU Tigers.
Bigby-Williams came to the Oregon Ducks as one of the top JUCO Transfers in the Class of 2016, but he struggled to adjust to a Dana Altman lineup seeing action that at times got him in trouble and other times made him look good. In the team’s first game last season against UCLA, Bigby-Williams had a few chances on the Offensive glass, but the ball bounced past his feet and went out of bounds. In that game, it was Dillon Brooks who hit the final shot for the win as time expired.
As the postseason approached, Kavell Bigby-Williams stepped in admirably in place of Shot Blocker Chris Boucher to help lead through key games in the Pac-12 Tournament.
