Oregon Ducks Sophomore To Be Payton Pritchard and Incoming Freshman Abu Kigab are showing their talent on the World Stage this week.

The Oregon Basketball team is well represented this week in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Cairo. Team USA has a lineup that includes Payton Pritchard who is holding his own. Team Canada is being led by the most part by Incoming Ducks Freshman Abu Kigab who had a double double his last game and is looking to push Canada past the United States this upcoming weekend. The US has won the FIBA U19 World Championship for three straight years.

Pritchard had 11 points in a blowout win in the Round of 16 over Mali. The game was close in the opening minutes before the US blew it open. The team had 15 dunks in the contest. Pritchard was efficient with 7 rebounds and also had 5 assists as the Team moves on to the Round of 8 and a matchup Friday with Germany.

More impressive was Abu Kigab with Team Canada. The Incoming Oregon Duck posted a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. He was also able to grab a steal and two assists in Team Canada’s win over Angola. Kigab helped the team shoot 47 percent from the floor and over 30 percent from beyond the arc

Abu Kigab and Team Canada take on France on Friday morning at 9:45am Pacific Time followed by the US meeting Germany at 12:15pm Pacific time. If both teams win they will meet in the Final Four so to speak on Saturday.
