Justin Johnson was among the last to come through the tunnel at Autzen Stadium and onto the field and had some time to reflect on the experience of the afternoon. At 335 pounds he could make an immediate impact for Mario Cristobal in a few years. Johnson is a member of the Class of 2018 and cited other recruits who committed over the weekend as a key reason.
Johnson was coveted by over 20 programs across the country. It is pretty clear that Offensive Line Coach Mario Cristobal likes a ‘big’ Offensive Line and with the addition of the 3-Star, the Class of 2019 includes three pledges all averaging over 300 pounds. We already know that any Offense begins up front and in the trenches.
Having the talent up front should give Oregon Football some leverage at other positions in recruiting. Players looking at Oregon on the Offensive Side of The Ball want to know they will be protected and adding big bodies could lead to a better recruiting classes in the future.
