Oregon Football: Nebraska Preparing For Autzen Stadium Crowd

Oregon Football faces a challenge on Saturday with Nebraska coming to Eugene, but the Cornhuskers are aware of the Ducks biggest weapon, their fans.

In 2014, Michigan State came to Autzen Stadium in what was one of the loudest games I have heard since I started covering Oregon. The noise level was deafening and a likely full house this weekend should bring that same energy against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have been working in Practice this week with addition noise pumped in to prepare for Oregon.

The Cornhuskers are using the trip as an opportunity to prepare for road games in their own conference, the Big Ten. Nebraska will travel this season to Penn State and a throng of 105,000 fans in Blue and White. Offensive Coordinator Danny Langsdorf says it will prepare his team, “It’ll be a good challenge for us. It’ll be another exciting road game, and we’ve got plenty of those in our own conference.”

Oregon Football fans saw first hand what Willie Taggart has in store against Southern Utah. The Ducks opened the 2017 season with a kickoff return for a touchdown from Tony Brooks-James who scampered 100 yards to open the game last weekend. One thing to watch this weekend will be the Defense.

Both teams run the 3-4 scheme entering 2017 and both teams are still working out the kinks. Oregon gave up 21 points early to Southern Utah. Nebraska almost lost the game against Arkansas State.

History is another thing to watch on Saturday. The last time Nebraska wore red on the road and won was 1976. Oregon is looking to begin a Winning Streak against a Top 5 Conference opponent and a win over the Cornhuskers would give them a ‘quality opponent’ victory.

Oregon and Nebraska are also not the only Pac-12/Big Ten Matchup on Saturday. One hour North in Corvallis, Oregon State meets Minnesota. The Ducks and Cornhuskers are set for a 1:30pm PT Kickoff on FOX.
