Oregon Football(4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) heads on the road to meet Bryce Love and Stanford(4-2, 3-1 Pac-12) in game that would get the Ducks back to .500 in Conference play.

There is plenty of good news to go around for the Oregon Ducks. The team welcomes back Wide Receivers Charles Nelson and Dillon Mitchell on Saturday night. Both were seen in Practice this week running routes and both should be ready to help an Offense that struggled without experience at the Wideout position last week against Washington State.

The Starting Quarterback for Oregon is either Braxton Burmeister or Senior Taylor Alie. The decision likely won’t be made until gametime. The experienced Alie was throwing better long passes in practice where Burmeister had better short to mid range passes. We may see both against the Cardinal.

If the season wasn’t sidetracked two weeks ago, the matchup between Royce Freeman and Bryce Love could have been must see tv, and one or both should have a big impact on the final score on the Farm.

With the Oregon Football Defense improving by the week and the team taking on a more physical presence than in recent years, Troy Dye and Jalen Jelks are again the key, especially to stopping Bryce Love.

Love has the Stanford Cardinal averaging over 200 yards per game. Oregon is giving up just under 100 yards on the ground per game this season. Something’s Gotta Give. The history between Oregon’s high fling Offense and the Ground and Pound of Stanford has been well documented.

Both teams play hard, but Oregon has become more physical this season, especially up front on both sides of the ball.

With Charles Nelson back as a threat to extend the field for the Oregon Offense, it should give time and additional openings for whoever is playing Quarterback for the Ducks.

For Oregon, short third downs will be key and will go a long way in extending drives. The Ducks and Cardinal kickoff at 8 pm Pacific Time on Fox Sports 1.
