Tennessee Titans Considering 5th Year Option On Quarterback Marcus Mariota
The Tennessee Titans are weighing their options at Quarterback for the future and they include Marcus Mariota.
On Saturday, Tennessee Titans Quarterback Marcus Mariota was the Honorary Offensive Coach for the Oregon Football Spring Game.
Mariota helped lead the Titans to their first playoff appearance in a decade last season and the team is considering exercising the fifth-year option on the former Oregon Duck.
Mariota has shown his commitment to the team in the offseason. He has spent time working out with the Titans Wide Receivers in California in the last month ahead of the first team meeting of 2018 that happened earlier this week as the team prepares for the NFL Draft next weekend.
Marcus Mariota continued to show his ability to connect with fans two weeks ago at a Special Olympics event at Nissan Stadium. The former Duck thew a pass to every Special Olympics athlete in attendance.
If the Tennessee Titans option Mariota for a fifth season, will likely guarantee his place in the Starting Lineup for the next two seasons and also show his teammates that the front office rewards the traits that Mariota embodies on the football field. The culture in Tennessee has changed since he was selected in the NFL Draft four seasons ago.

Mariota would be set to earn just over $3 million for the upcoming season and would see an increase to over $20 million for the 2019 season.
With coaching changes over the last two seasons and a new first-year head coach in Tennessee, the team will likely hold off on a long-term deal for their Star Quarterback – at least for now.
The immediate focus should be the NFL Draft next week and continuing to find pieces that will help compliment their young quarterback.
Mariota is just 24 years old and Tennessee needs just another piece or two to remain competitive and get back to the NFL Playoffs this season.
