Oregon Ducks Sweep California, Take Pac-12 Title
The Oregon Ducks swept California an took the Pac-12 Championship for the fifth time in six seasons.
Last year, Oregon was just a ½ game out of first place at the end of the year. It has been another season of success under Head Coach Mike White. The Ducks put up 23 runs against the Golden Bears while holding them to three runs. Miranda Elish was impressive in the circle as she has been all season and picked up her 20th win of the season and her 19th complete game of the year. Maggie Balint came in to close out the game.
White shuffled his Starting Lineup entering the weekend with Oregon battling the UCLA Bruins for the Pac-12 Title, but the Bruins lost at Arizona State Saturday meaning Oregon would win the Championship outright with a sweep of California. The Oregon Ducks finished the year with just three road losses and a 19-1 record at Jane Sanders Stadium.

Against the California Golden Bears, Oregon found their Offense quickly. The Ducks finish the regular season with seven batters hitting better than .300 on the season. Gwen Svekis and DJ Sanders will look to lead Oregon into the postseason and their Senior Leadership should take them all the way to Oklahoma City.
Maggie Balint could be the Oregon Ducks secret weapon in the circle. While she found early success in the circle during the non-conference slate in 2018, she also struggled at key moments during the regular season. Balint entered the circle last Sunday to a standing ovation at Jane Sanders Stadium on Senior Day against Utah and saw action in the final game against Cal on Sunday.
The Oregon Ducks now await NCAA Tournament Selection and are in line for the #1 Overall Seed. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show is set for 7 pm Pacific Time Sunday on ESPN2.
