Oregon Football is set to host the Stanford Cardinal to open Pac-12 play in Primetime on ABC on Saturday, September 22nd.

Oregon Football is 2-0 and currently ranked 20th in the latest Associated Press Poll. The team is also ranked 4th in the Nation in scoring behind Quarterback Justin Herbert. The team is averaging 60 points per game.

On the opposing side, the Stanford Cardinal beat USC in Pac-12 play last weekend 17-3,  holding the Trojans Offense to just a field goal. While the team is still working their way into Defensive form, they won’t have a lot of time to work with since Oregon looms in less than two weeks at Autzen Stadium.

The Cardinal sit at the top of the Pac-12 North Standings after beating Pac-12 foe USC, but will be without the services of Running Back Bryce Love this weekend against UC Davis. Through two games, Quarterback K.J. Costello has thrown for five touchdowns. Oregon Football Quarterback Justin Herbert has thrown 9 touchdowns for 531 yards of Offense through the air.

The Oregon Ground Game has also gained experience with Tony Brooks James leading the way and CJ Verdell, the promising Freshman following close behind. Last weekend, both Verdell and Brooks-James had 100-yard games on the ground for Oregon Football.

Two Heisman Trophy contenders will likely be going at it next weekend in Eugene when 9th ranked Stanford meets 20th ranked Oregon. The Ducks Justin Herbert had had NFL Scouts salivating since last season and Running Back Bryce Love(if he plays) set the pace int he Pac-12 Conference last season.

With the game being broadcast on ABC, there may also be a chance that College Gameday makes a return to Eugene for the key early season Pac-12 matchup. (Another option may be when Washington comes to town on October 13th).
