Week 3 of College Football features the final tuneup for most Pac-12 teams with a key in-conference game to end the day.

Ah, it’s another great Saturday here in the United States as, yet again, a full slate of college football games awaits us. With a couple of marquee matchups — Ohio State at TCU, and LSU at Auburn — and the normal slate of a million games going on at every moment, today is shaping upon to be another rendition of day-long “amateur” football fun.

The Pac-12 is back in action as well, and luckily, the conference has dodged the hurricane on the eastern seaboard. And I swear, with the amount of hype this hurricane is getting, it better look like the 50-year storm from Point Break when it hits the Carolinas. Florence (that’s what the weather folks are calling her) is apparently strong enough and scary enough to cause football games to be canceled. Whew, intense.

Okay, here we go. This is the Pac-12 schedule and spreads (for gambling because uhhh that exists now) for week 3:

UC Davis @ Stanford; 2PM EST, 11AM PST

Line: Stanford -29

Stanford, a week after beating nationally ranked USC, has to play also-undefeated UC Davis. Blowout. Easy. Next test comes a week from now vs. Oregon.

San Jose State @ Oregon; 5PM EST, 2PM PST

Line: Oregon -41.5

Oregon will beat the tar out of their third and final cupcake game before getting into Pac-12 play. The real question is: can the Ducks win by 42? It’s for you to decide. Throw some money on it if you want to.

New Hampshire @ Colorado; 5PM EST, 2PM PST

Line: None

Wow. Ok. New Hampshire, one of the 50 states in the union, doesn’t even get respect enough for a spread against the Colorado Buffaloes. I’m taking this as a sign that Colorado will and should win by a thousand.

Idaho State @ California; 6PM EST, 3PM PST

Line: None

Okay Pac-12, I know you gotta play miserable teams in order to boost the record and all that, but can we at least play someone of any decency. Like, I don’t know, a division one team? Please, for the sake of my entertainment.

Oregon State @ Nevada; 7PM EST, 4PM PST

Line: Nevada -3.5

The only Pac-12 underdog against a non-conference opponent, Oregon State is in a laughable state in terms of their football program. They are underdogs against the Wolf Pack who got beat by Vanderbilt by 31 points. Funny stuff. They must really be terrible.

USC @ Texas; 8PM EST, 5PM PST

Line: Texas -3.5

To me, this is a duel between two of the most overrated football programs in the country, as usually-disappointing USC travels as road dogs to Austin for a game against the always-overrated Texas Longhorns. I think I like USC in this one. Texas just lost to Maryland again — a sentence never spoken about a good football team.

Eastern Washington @ Washington State; 8PM EST, 5PM PST

Line: None

The only thing I know about Eastern Washington football is that Cooper Kupp, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, went there. Leach and the boys should cruise to victory here.

Washington @ Utah; 10PM EST, 7PM PST

Line: Washington -4

Put a full unit of cash on Washington in this one. Utah is overrated, especially by the AP. Their offense just isn’t what it should be. They laid a goose egg in the first half against Northern Illinois. C’mon, there’s no way they hang with U-Dub, even if it is at home. They’ll win by far more than 4 points.

23 Arizona State @ San Diego State; 10:30PM EST, 7:30PM PST

Line: ASU -5

Arizona State finds themselves in a potential trap game as they travel to play the SDSU Aztecs. In a battle between the respective alumni of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, I think the Sun Devils and Herm Edwards will come out on top, though I agree with Vegas and think it’ll be a closely contested matchup.

Fresno State @ UCLA; 10:30PM EST, 7:30PM PST

Line: Fresno State -3

What a sad state of affairs for Chip Kelly and the Bruins: home underdogs against a non-division one Fresno State. Whew they are bad. So bad that I don’t even know what to think of this spread. Maybe Fresno has their second coming of Derek Carr?

Southern Utah @ Arizona; 11PM EST, 8PM PST

Line: Arizona -23.5

Both teams are 0-2, but not all 0-2’s are equal. And the bookie’s like Arizona’s better than Southern Utah’s, as the Wildcats and new coach Kevin Sumlin look to finally win their first game. They’ll win this one, comfortably.

That’s today’s Pac-12 slate. Sit back and enjoy another week of America’s favorite sport. But do make sure you tune in to Oregon’s matchup vs. the San Jose State Spartans. (2pm PT, Pac-12 Network)
