The College Football Matrix is looking at the Oregon Football Offense helping get the road win vs California this week.

Oregon Football will play on the road for the first time this season visiting the California Golden Bears. According to the College Football Matrix, the team should find a competitive first half and pull away for the win in the second half. Despite the loss last week, the Ducks enter this week as the 2nd highest scoring offense in the second quarter. and the 13th best in the Nation in the third quarter.

On the flip side, the California Defense has given up just 18 points per game this season, and those numbers reflect. The Golden Bears best Defensive Quarter is the first, 3rd best in the nation. The third Quarter puts them 22nd best and the team’s 4th Quarter numbers don’t count due to the non-conference schedule.

The College Football Matrix has Oregon with a big second quarter winning by ten points in the end. Last week, it predicted correctly with a big first half for Oregon Football, which happened. The Defense collapsed in the second half in what surely was defeat being clutched at the hands of what should have been a victory against the Stanford Cardinal.

Last season, the road numbers were dismal en route to a loss against Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl. Oregon is taking a more ‘business-like’ approach against the Golden Bears and former player and now Head coach Justin Wilcox. According to Dave Bartoo from College Football Matrix, Oregon Football should get the road win this weekend, “I think the big thing here is Cal doesn’t have the firepower to stay with Oregon. The Offense is barely getting by. Their offense(Cal) is 90th in the FBS….The first one to 24 is going to win this football game.”

Oregon Football enters Strawberry Canyon against a Cal team that has had a week to prepare for Oregon Football. Expect a wrinkle or two from California in the first half. The Ducks and Golden Bears kickoff Saturday at 7:35pm Pacific Time on Fox Sports 1.
