Oregon Basketball will put their talent on display against Western Oregon Thursday night at Matthew Knight Arena.

It is hard to believe that the College Basketball season is here. Oregon will host Western Oregon as a tuneup for the 2018-19 season Thursday night at Mathew Knight Arena. Returning Starters Kenny Wooten, Payton Pritchard and Paul White will look to play with one of Oregon Basketball’s most highly touted recruiting classes ever.

The team struggled at times last season to find consistency. They did manage to make it into the NIT. This season, the NCAA Tournament is again the goal. Head Coach Dana Altman has been able to find ways to get his team to the postseason. Last season, Troy Brown struggled in key stretches, especially on the road. This offseason the team worked hard to make sure they were able to get back to the big dance.

Oregon will welcome 7 foot 3 Bol Bol into the fold officially on Thursday night.,long a with other new faces that include Will Richardson, and Louis King. Both Richardson and King are out with injuries to start the season.

Payton Pritchard is the most experienced player on the team and should have less on his plate entering this season than last. Altman admitted that he had a lot of weight on Pritchard’s shoulders last season. He helped the team to an underwhelming 23-13 record and the second round of the NIT.

The Oregon Defense should see an immediate improvement with Bol Bol and Kenny Wooten. Fans could be soon reminiscing back to Chris Boucher and Jordan Bell from just a few seasons ago and an Oregon Team that used Rim Defense and Perimeter Defense together to help get them all the way to the NCAA Final Four before losing to North Carolina.

Oregon Basketball faces Western Oregon Thursday night(7 pm in an exhibition game before starting the 2018 Regular Season next Tuesday(8 pm) hosting Portland State.
