Oregon Football returns home to face UCLA after two weeks being unable to compete offensively. The College Football Matrix does not see a favorable outcome against Chip Kelly and the Bruins on Saturday.

In our weekly conversation with Dave Bartoo from the College Football Matrix, the rest of the Pac-12 Conference has passed Oregon in several key categories. Entering this week, Oregon Football has again slipped in looking at Offensive Scoring Efficiency(OSE). The Ducks enter this week 37th on Offense and 88th on Defense year to date. When you adjust the numbers to the opponents they have faced they place 38th.

According to Bartoo, the Defensive numbers are actually worse. The Oregon Defensive scoring number has the Ducks ranked 97th. One area that has stood out and is trending the wrong way is clear. The Oregon Offense has clearly lost their way, “That’s after being a top 10 efficient team on Offense the first four weeks. The Offense is 111th the last four weeks. Herbert has never had games this bad. Ever. It feels like it is all falling apart. It is disheartening as hell.”

We have already pointed to coaching and Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo. Injuries have also played a role over the last two weeks. Both Justin Herbert and Dillon Mitchell are coming off concussion protocol from earlier this week. Herbert practiced on Wednesday. Mitchell did not see the practice field this week.

More from Autzen Zoo

When you look at UCLA, their Defense is better entering this week that Oregon. (You read that right), “UCLA’s Offense is 105th in the country. They have faced the number one Defensive profile in the country. UCLA and Oregon are going in the opposite direction. UCLA’s Defense-adjusted for opponent is 73rd(better than Oregon).

"You have a UCLA team that is progressing, Oregon is regressing.Dave Bartoo in looking at the matchup between Oregon and UCLA."

College Football Matrix sees the UCLA Bruins and Chip Kelly pulling the upset over Oregon 27-23 on Saturday.

Autzen Zoo will have Live Coverage starting at 3:30 pm Pacific Time. The Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins kickoff Saturday at 4:30 pm Pacific Time on FOX.
