It was not pretty by any means, but despite losing Quarterback Justin Herbert late in the first half, Oregon used a power run game to win over Oregon State on Friday.
The game was marred by weather in the second half but Oregon used their lone strength on Offense that the Oregon State Beavers could not stop, even though they knew it was coming. The Ducks Running Game stood out like a sore thumb with two players nearing the 200-yard rushing mark for the game.
CJ Verdell and Travis Dye were the effective Offense for Oregon with Verdell scoring five touchdowns on the afternoon. Dye scampered into the end zone for two and Herbert had a score before he left the game with a shoulder injury after an Oregon State sack. Following the game, Head Coach Mario Cristobal said Herbert would be re-evaluated back in Eugene. The good news is that he was not in a sling on the sidelines. It is hopeful that he will be able to play in the Ducks Bowl Game.
Other Oregon Ducks were not so fortunate. Jalen Jelks was injured last week against Oregon State and is listed week to week. He did not play against ASU since he did not practice leading up to the game. Tony Brooks-James went down with a lower leg injury that looked ‘more serious’. He was on the sideline in a boot and will also be re-evaluated back in Eugene.

For the game, the Oregon Defense struggled in the first half. Cornerbacks Deommodore Lenoir and Thomas Graham Jr. struggled against Oregon State Wide Receivers after finding a way to manage one of the better Wideouts in the Pac-12 last weekend in N’Keal Harry.
Offensively, the state page glared with a big absence in the second half The production at Quarterback for Oregon is non-existent. Braxton Burmeister had an opportunity, did manage an 11-yard run. He did not have to do much passing but went 1 for 2 in the second half. When the ground game is working, you stick with it as Oregon did. The Ducks won 55-15 over Oregon State.
Oregon Football now waits for December 2nd for the determination of where they will go bowling this season.
