Oregon Basketball: Ducks Battle To Win At Boise State
Oregon Basketball traveled to Boise State with just eight scholarship players with injuries and Ehab Amin led the team to a road win.
Amin was the storyline for the game. He found the basket and was a difference maker for pretty much the first time this season. Oregon also had 12 steals in the game vs Boise State, a season high. Amin came off the bench and scored 23 points. He was 8 for 13 from the floor and pulled down six rebounds. The game was back and forth for 40 minutes with Oregon finally finding some breathing room in the final five minutes winning 62-50. It was the Ducks final non-conference tune-up before the start of Pac-12 play this week.
The team showed that despite the injuries, they could play together. Amin was the spark plug and Oregon may need more games like that out of him over the coming weeks for the team to have a chance to compete early during the Conference slate.

As it stands, the Pac-12 is up for grabs. There is one team ranked entering 2019 (Arizona). The Wildcats took down Kentucky last week. However, every team in the Pac-12 has at least three losses entering Pac-12 play. It was a bad week for the Conference of Champions with five teams losing this weekend and closing out 2018 with the worst performing December of the last twenty years.
Despite having three player out due to injury, the Ducks are still in the top half of the Conference standings entering Conference play. Kenny Wooten will be out for at least a month with a broken jaw. Both Bol Bol and Abu Kigab will be back sooner most likely. A timetable has not been given for their respective returns.
Freshman Louis King and Will Richardson are making the most of their early career opportunities.
Oregon opens Pac-12 play next Saturday (January 5th) hosting Oregon State in the Civil War at Matthew Knight Arena. (5 pm, Pac-12 Network)
