Oregon Basketball: Ducks Handle Washington State, Head To Mountain Schools
Oregon Ducks Head Coach Dana Altman had to be more content following the win over Washington State.
The Ducks finished the game on a 20-5 run over the final eight minutes giving Oregon a much-needed victory. The strength of any team should be at home. After losses over the last three weeks at Matthew Knight Arena to UCLA and Washington, the Ducks have bounced back with wins over the USC Trojans two weeks ago and vs Washington State.
Freshman Louis King has shown he can be the go-to player for Oregon. King finished the game with 22 points and 5 rebounds. He was 8 for 11 from the floor and was a calming force on the Defensive end of the floor. With the loss of Bol Bol, the team has started to come together and at times have looked very inconsistent. The game against the Cougars was another chance to reset after the losses of Bol and Abu Kigab this season.

For the Oregon Ducks to be successful, Paul White will have to find the basket. He was able to score 15 points against Washington State coming back from a sprained ankle suffered on the road against Arizona State. White also had 6 rebounds in 26 minutes on the floor. Kenny Wooten turned it on against Washington State with 20 points. He had three blocks in the game. Both teams shot close to 55 percent from the floor, but Oregon scored 21 points off WSU turnovers which was the difference in the game.
The Ducks had 10 steals and 21 assists, led by Payton Pritchard with 8. Altman needs to help the team find similar successes on the road this week against the Mountain schools. The Ducks face a Utah team with a very similar record on Thursday night.
Oregon looks to even their road record at 3-3 on Thursday night vs Utah. The Ducks will also face Colorado on Saturday. The Ducks and Utes meet Thursday at 6 pm on Fox Sports 1
