The Oregon Ducks continue to be a work in progress this season and the team can take a step on Wednesday night vs California.

Head Coach Dana Altman has seen his team struggle to a 4-5 Pac-12 record this season with several losses coming by five points or less. The Ducks return home from a 1-1 road trip that saw a win over Utah on the road, a place the Ducks have never won and a loss at Colorado. The Ducks struggled early at Colorado, especially in the first half. It was a rough start that led to a lopsided loss after the team won the second half 34-33.

Consistency will have to be found to make a run in the Pac-12 and possibly the postseason and it could start on Wednesday night against a California Golden Bears team still looking for their first Pac-12 win.

More from Autzen Zoo

Louis King has been a bright spot of late. The Freshman has led the team in scoring six times his season. He has scored in double figures in all but one Conference game this season. Fellow Freshman Will Richardson had a breakout game against Utah. He had 19 points off 8 for 12 shooting. With the loss of Bol Bol to injury and the departure of Abu Kijab, Oregon is getting experience in real time rather than having previous experience to lean on.

California and Oregon are both putting up roughly 70 points per game this season. The Ducks have a slight rebounding edge in those numbers looking at season stats, but Oregon could also be a few turnovers away from losing to the last place team in the Pac-12. Paul White, who has been injured, is expected to play against Cal and could provide a boost inside.

Oregon and Cal tipoff at 6:45 pm Pacific Time from Matthew Knight Arena. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
