Oregon Ducks Ruthy Hebard Scores Double Double In Win Over Oregon State

It was a battle from the start, but the Oregon Ducks used defense and experience in a 77-68 win over Oregon State.

Both teams played even in the first quarter with Oregon taking a 7-2 lead. Oregon State went inside for six points and Katie McWilliams scored six points in the opening quarter. The lead went back and forth several times with Satou Sabally hitting two no doubt three-pointers and Sabrina Ionescu able to get inside for several banks shots.

Oregon pushed the lead back to five points with just under a minute left in the first quarter. The first quarter ended with Oregon up. The Ducks finished the first half on a 10-1 run in 1:31 seconds to take a lead into the locker room.

The third quarter saw Oregon again pull away wind with just over three minutes left in the quarter Oregon State was again stuck behind solid Defensive play by Oregon the Ducks came back, managed an Offensive rebound without any points. The Ducks again had a big Defensive stand. Oregon pushed their lead to 53-44 off a Sabrina Ionescu bank shot. She followed with a three-point shot pushing the Ducks lead to ten points.

At the end of the third quarter, Oregon led by ten and had just two turnovers in the game forcing Oregon State in to ten turnovers. The Beavers were outshooting the Ducks 49 percent to 44 percent, but the three-pointer was kind to Oregon. The Ducks were 7 for 13 from beyond the arc and turned 10 turnovers into 15 points.

The fourth quarter was won by Oregon State, but the Ducks lead held. In the final moments, Erin Boley hit two free throws to give Oregon the win 77-68 over Oregon State keeping the Nations active winning streak alive, now at 17 straight games.

For Oregon, Ruthy Hebard finished with a double-double scoring 21 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu had 29 points and 9 rebounds.

It will be a quick turnaround for both teams. The Civil War rematch is set for Sunday in Corvallis. (Monday, 6pm, ESPN2)
