The Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers battled for four quarters, but the Beavers earned the win on Sunday.

Something had to give with both teams playing for a streak. Until Sunday, Oregon had not won at Oregon State in eight games and the Ducks rode an 18 game winning streak into Corvallis. The streak came to an end with the loss to the Beavers lining up a potential rematch in Las Vegas next month.

The Oregon Ducks were unable to find the basket for much of the first half. The Ducks forced 15 turnovers and turned them into 18 points. Oregon was also 9 for 10 from the free throw line. Sabrina Ionescu struggled in the first half but almost brought the team back in the final minutes. She finished the game 9 for 25 and 0 for 6 from the floor against Oregon State.

Satou Sabally had 12 points and was just 1 for 3 from beyond the arc. Before the end of the second quarter, Ruthy Hebard went down hard on a non-contact play. She came out of the locker room in the first half to warm up but was not in the lineup in the second half. At the end of the game Head Coach, Kelly Graves called the injury ‘not good’.

At the time of this article, her status is unknown heading into a weekend of home games with UCLA and USC coming to Matthew Knight Arena.

The Oregon Ducks entered the week with their highest ever ranking in the Associated Press poll at #2. A close loss to Oregon State and wins this weekend should keep them in the Top 5.

Oregon and UCLA take the court on Friday night at 8 pm at Matthew Knight Arena on Pac-12 Network.
