The Oregon Ducks held their fifth straight opponent to under 62 points for their fifth straight win, 84-51 over Washington State.

Head Coach Dana Altman has preached Defense with his team in the past, and just when we thought it was too late for this year’s Oregon Ducks, the team came through with 14 steals against a Washington State team that was still looking for answers from last weeks loss to the Oregon Ducks at home.

Oregon held Washington State to 30 percent shooting from the floor while taking and making close to 50 percent of their shots from inside the arc. Ehab Amin led the way with 17 points and ball distribution was key – as was getting players involved. Minutes were spread evenly throughout the game, a key moving forward with everyone getting on the floor in the Pac-12 Tournament.

Even Bol Bol was seen taking some light shots pregame as he continues to rehab from a foot injury earlier this season.

The Oregon Ducks hit a milestone and their 20th win of the season vs Washington State. It is the ninth consecutive season the team has reached the 20 win mark. I remember when the 20 win mark meant you made it into the NCAA Tournament, but the Ducks still have work to do in Las Vegas.

No one has won more Tournament games in Las Vegas than the Oregon Ducks. After the game last night it seems this team is primed to make a run to Sunday. Up next, the Utah Utes, a team that the Ducks beat in late January. As I have said, Oregon is a team that had to reinvent itself at the start of Pac-12 play. It appears Dana Altman has nearly completed the transformation and the result is a dangerous team heading into the second round.

The Oregon Ducks and Utah Utes tipoff Thursday at 8:30 pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Network.
