5 Seed Wisconsin will meet the 12 Seed Oregon Ducks in San Jose on Friday to open the NCAA Tournament.

After an eight-game winning streak, Oregon will get to remain close to home and face a Wisconsin Badgers team who they have not beaten in the NCAA Tournament. Dana Altman and the Ducks will face the Badgers for the third time in six seasons.

The Oregon Ducks earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament after beating four teams in the Pac-12 Tournament including Arizona State and Washington. The Huskies landed as a 10 seed on the NCAA Tournament for their season performance. One benefit the Committee gave to Oregon is a game on the West Coast. After playing in Las Vegas last week, a potential two games in San Jose California should help keep legs fresh.

One area of concern entering the NCAA Tournament is the health of the team. After a four-game grind and Pac-12 Championship win, several players appeared a little banged up including Kenny Wooten and Louis King. While King played against Washington, he was reportedly wearing a boot. Kenny Wooten fouled out against Arizona State and was seen stretching by the tunnel. He also played against Washington

I expect these are just the bumps and bruises of playing and winning eight straight games, but these two players are still worth keeping an eye on this week.

Kansas State is among the teams in the Ducks opening bracket in San Jose. Oregon could face K State in the Sunday game if they advance vs Wisconson. Head Coach Dana Altman was a former coach at Kansas State. Once again, the NCAA Tournament is as much about storylines as compelling matchups.

The Wisconsin Badgers finished the season at 23-10 and 14-6 in the Big Ten Conference.

The tip time for the Oregon Ducks and Wisconsin Badgers on Friday at 1:30 pm PT on TBS.
