Oregon Basketball: Ducks Sign Dana Altman, Kelly Graves To Extensions
The Oregon Ducks have two basketball programs that have made the most of this season and the University of Oregon has extended the contracts of both Head Coaches.
For the Oregon Men’s Basketball team it has been a crazy last three weeks that has seen an eight game-winning streak lead right into the NCAA Tournament and a game Friday against Wisconson. Head Coach Dana Altman has not missed the postseason in his nine year’s in Eugene and missed the NCAA Tournament last season ending in an NIT bid.
Altman was rewarded with a contract extension through the 2025-26 season. Altman is five wins away from becoming the All-time winningest Coach in Oregon History. While Oregon has an eight-game winning streak heading to San Jose, they face a challenge in Wisconsin who sent the Ducks home two of the last five seasons in the NCAA Tournament. This is the first time Oregon will not have to travel to a different timezone for the first two rounds of March Madness.

Oregon and Wisconsin tipoff at 1:25 pm Friday on TBS.
While the Oregon Men have found success late this season, the Oregon Women’s Basketball team has been building a beast in Eugene in the time that Head Coach Kelly Graves has been Head Coach. This season, everything has fallen into place with two games at Matthew Knight Arena followed by a trip up I-5 to Portland. If the Ducks can win four straight they will play in the State of Oregon until the Elite 8, a first for the program.
On Wednesday, Oregon announced an extension for Kelly Graves, keeping him in Eugene also through the 2025-26 season. Graves last season had his team in position to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament before falling in the Elite 8. The players on his team have become household names for fans in Eugene. Sabrina Ionescu is one of the best players in all of Women’s College Basketball with a career and record-setting 17 career triple-doubles Ruthy Hebard is unstoppable inside and Satou Sabally has grown up this season before all of our eyes.
The Oregon Women’s Basketball team will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Matthew Knight Arena this Friday. The opening game at 4 pm will be Indiana vs Texas. Oregon and Portland State tipoff at 6 pm, or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the the first game.
