It was a game where you didn’t want to see a loser, but the Oregon Ducks topped Mississippi State to reach the Women’s Final Four.

Oregon and Mississippi State played a heavy-weight match on the basketball court at the Moda Center on Sunday. Over 11,000 fans were on hand to cheer on the Ducks. Both teams shot 50 percent or better from three-point range. There were 15 lead changes and 11 times the game was tied.

Sabrina Ionescu was the player that stood out again, as she has for the NCAA Tournament so far. After a triple-double last week against Indiana, she again had a huge game. She finished with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and a step back three-pointer in the final minute from the top of the key helped give Oregon the win 88-84 over Mississippi State.

Ruthy Hebard finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Oregon and Mississippi State finished with an equal 30 points in the paint. It was such a clean game, both teams had fouls to give in the final two minutes. The Ducks outrebounded Mississippi State by one, 32-31.

Satou Sabally and Maite Cazorla did their jobs efficiently on Offense, combining to go 6 for 12 from three-point range. Both teams finished hot with Oregon closing out 7 for 7 from the floor, Mississippi State finished 4 for 5. The Oregon Ducks now travel to Tampa and to a place in the Women’s NCAA Tournament they have never been, the Women’s Final Four.

The Oregon Ducks will have to play as well, or better and head to a new arena. It will take time to get adjusted to another new floor as well as the angles for their respective shots.

A fellow Pac-12 team has a chance to make it to the Final Four with the Stanford Cardinal facing off with Notre Dame on Monday night.

Oregon will face Baylor on Friday at 4 pm Pacific Time on ESPN2.
