With key returning starters in Quarterback Justin Herbert to lead the Offense and Troy Dye leading the Defense, Oregon Football should have a solid season according to the Pac-12 Media.

In looking at the Pac-12 North, first-place votes were split 17 each between Oregon and the Washington Huskies. The Ducks will travel North to face Washington this season. Stanford ranked third in the Media poll with Washington State, California and Oregon State rounding out the Pac-12 North.

California has some work to do on Offense after ending last season with a good Defense, ranked 15th in the nation. Their Offense was downright offensive at 115th. While the Golden Bears picked up 81 points in the poll, Oregon State saw less than half with 38 points. It is clear who will decide the North Division this season.

Looking at the Pac-12 South, the Media chose Utah not only as the winner of the Division but also the Pac-12 overall. The breakdown of first-place votes saw 33 go to Utah and just two go to second-place USC. Arizona State, UCLA, Arizona, and Colorado rounded out the South Division.

The Pac-12 Non-Conference slate will go a long way in deciding the chances of getting to the Pac-12 Championship game. While Oregon does not have a powerhouse team to face in 2019 in the first month of the season, other teams will face a big challenge.

Arizona opens the season traveling to Hawaii to face the Rainbow Warriors a month from today. The following week, UCLA visits Cincinnati. An improving Northwestern team visits Stanford on August 31st, the same day the Ducks face Auburn.

We may start to get a clearer picture as the season heads into October, but for now, it appears that Oregon Football is in a good spot in the eyes of perception.
