Oregon Quarterback Justin Herbert enters the 2019 season as a veteran and has consistency in key areas.
When Oregon Football took the stage at Pac-12 Media Day earlier this week, the newest member of the Ducks was not a player, but Head Coach Mario Cristobal. Both Justin Herbert and Troy Dye have done this dance before. As the season quickly approaches, all three spoke about expectations for 2019, as well as what has gone on in the offseason.
Washington State Coach Mike Leach had a quip about the Ducks Signal Caller when he was asked about Herbert saying it felt like he’s been in Eugene for 10 years. For Oregon fans, I’m sure we would love to see him playing for another ten.
Justin Herbert will find success this season for a few reasons. First, the Coaching Staff has been consistent from last season to this season, at least on the Offensive side of the ball. Keep in mind this is the third Head Coach that Herbert has seen in his Oregon Football career.

Oregon struggled to hold onto the ball last season. Dropped passes were a big issue that have been cleaned up according to Herbert, especially the new guys, “The freshman are going to have to come in and make some plays. There’s no time to waste.” Oregon lost key Wideout Dillon Mitchell following the Michigan State game last season. Dillon declared for the NFL Draft, forgoing his Senior Year.
Mitchell was selected in the 7th Round by the Minnesota Vikings.
Fall Camp officially opens for Oregon Football on Friday, August 2nd. The team will enter camp with some new faces they did not have in the Spring, including Running Back Sean Dollars who will see the field this season. The Ducks staple is strength up front and Mario Cristobal will again have key players in the front 7 to protect Justin Herbert.
