Oregon Football opened 2019 Fall Camp on Friday and it seemed business as usual as the Ducks begin preparation for the regular season.

The Oregon Coaching Staff has remained consistent in the offseason with a few exceptions with the main one being at Defensive Coordinator as Andy Avalos replaces Jim Leavitt. On Offense, Oregon returns ten starters on offense, tied for the most in the nation. Justin Herbert returns for his senior season and has the experience around him and plenty of talent.

Head Coach Mario Cristobal said the guys are hungry and ready to get focused, “They have had a great summer. They have been eager for this day to come.” Entering Fall Camp there are a few guys dinged up with some minor bumps and bruises, but everyone practiced to open camp on Friday, “We’re really healthy. Just about everybody practiced.”

Oregon Football, as they have done in past seasons, spent some time this summer with other programs, both at the professional and college level. While Cristobal did not disclose the details, he did say there were some ‘tweaks’ for offense and defense for the upcoming season. I personally hope to also see a new wrinkle or two on the offense.

Oregon has 29 days of Fall Camp that will see the final 10 days focused exclusively on their first opponent in the Auburn Tigers in Dallas on August 31st. Cristobal added he feels good about the preparation time, “I feel strong about the direction and I feel strong about the approach, the way we attack the opportunity. We like to enter camp and leave camp aggressive and confident. “

The Ducks meet Auburn on Saturday, August 31st at 4:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
