In a move that surprises exactly zero people, Dana Altman and Oregon Basketball continue to recruit their asses off.
Four-star wing, Addison Patterson, announced on Sunday that he was reclassifying to the 2019 class, and more importantly, that he is going to be a Duck.
After five-star N’Faly Dante reclassified and committed to Oregon earlier last week, everyone was still marveling at Dana Altman & Co.’s recruiting prowess. So much so that pundits and pollsters across the country were scrambling to release updated preseason rankings that almost unanimously declared the Ducks a top ten team.

So just as everyone was starting to calm down a little and remember that we are less than two weeks away from Duck football, Dana showed off his Canadian connection once again by landing the 6-foot-6 Milton, Ontario, native, Patterson.
And the pundits and pollsters are scrambling all over again.
After a miraculous run through the end of the season, the Pac-12 Tournament, and a trip the Sweet Sixteen last March, Altman had proved once again just how good of a coach he really is. But that kind of success surely pushed guys like Kenny Wooten and Louis King towards their NBA decisions, and with Bol Bol’s departure, it felt like the Ducks might see a drop off next year.
"“Hold my beer.” – Dana Altman, probably."
But alas, 2019 Oregon basketball now boasts three of the top twelve rated recruits in school history, and a once-reeling roster looks to attack the Final Four with full force.
Patterson will join the Ducks’ returners, Payton Pritchard, Will Richardson, and Francis Okoro. But he’s also joining the two five-stars: 6-foot-11 Dante, and forward/precious gem of our recruiting class, CJ Walker.
You can put this year’s recruiting class right up there with the 2017 Final Four, and last March’s return of the Kamikaze Kids as the greatest things Dana Altman has ever accomplished at Oregon, but I have a strong feeling there might be another banner to add to that list in the not-so-distant future.
Go Ducks.
