In looking at the matchup, the Auburn Tigers are better in almost every category on the field. The Coach Effect for Auburn averages out to be a B between Offense and Defense. For Oregon Football, it is a D for Mario Cristobal as a Head Coach, and Marcus Arroyo has an F+. Last season it was an F, so he is headed in the right direction.

Dave Bartoo from College Football Matrix says the game’s outcome will be dependent on the arm of Freshman Quarterback Bo Nix. If Oregon Football can force Nix into early mistakes, the Oregon Defense should have enough to win the game The Defensive numbers for Oregon when looking at Coach Effect are more favorable with Andy Avalos opening with a B+ grade.
Keep in mind that the Auburn Coaching Staff has a lot more experience together and have worked together for the last nine seasons. While Cristobal and Arroyo have worked together for three seasons now, both had different roles when they started. This also means consistency in recruiting as well over the same time period.
If Nix can keep the game in front of him and not throw errant passes, the Auburn Tigers should maintain control of the game. In looking at some other games in the Pac-12 Conference, Bartoo says lookout for a potential upset on the farm.
Northwestern Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald has one of the best coach effects on the road and will have his team prepared. Keep in mind, the Wildcats have had some key games over the last few seasons
Bartoo also says that Fresno State will cover the 13.5 point spread against the USC Trojans.
Oregon Football faces the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, August 31st in the Advocare Classic. Kickoff is set for 4:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
