Oregon Football led in the first half vs Auburn, but the Tigers Defense along with several miscues gave them the lead and the win with 9 seconds left on the clock.
While Marcus Arroyo is taking some heat on social media this weekend for the Oregon Ducks lack of offense in the second half vs the Auburn Tigers on Saturday there are several factors that led to Oregon falling in Dallas. From the start of the game, the Ducks had two main wide receivers in Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson III. Johnson played lights out in the first half and Redd was able to show his speed. One player missing was Juwan Johnson, who pulled a muscle earlier in the week and did not play. Bryan Addison also saw time on the field and despite missing a catch in the endzone, will be more remembered for saving an Auburn Touchdown and running 90 yards downfield to make a tackle at the Oregon two-yard line.

You could not have asked much more from the Oregon Football Defense. In their first game under Andy Avalos, they were relentless getting in the face of Auburn Quarterback Bo Nix most of the night. At one point late in the game, there was a series where he was 2 for 8 that forced another three and out on the Tigers.
Javon Holland was at key places on the field on Defense and Special Teams. He racked up over 100 yards on the ground on returns, which by the way leads the nation in that category. Troy Dye had 15 tackles on the night, 10 of them solo. Kayvon Thibodeaux never had the chance to get going against the Tigers, but expect big things from him this season.
Two Oregon Ducks saw the first touchdowns of their respective careers with Spencer Webb and Darrian Felix scoring. Webb’s Allen Iverson like step over his defender received attention on social media.
Auburn is the most physical team that Oregon Football will face all season and despite the loss, the team has a lot to play for still ahead of them. It starts this week with a Nevada team that beat Purdue off the leg of their field goal kicker Brandon Talton who hit a 56-yarder to win the game over Purdue.
Oregon and Nevada kickoff from Autzen Stadium at 4:30 pm Pacific Time Saturday on Pac-12 Network.
