Oregon Volleyball is focused on making the NCAA Tournament in 2019 and they are off to a good start, but have bigger challenges ahead on the road.

The Oregon Ducks swept both Bostin College and UC Irvine to get to 2-0 to open the season. They were rewarded, entering the top ten of the AVCA Poll at number nine for their effort.

Against UC Irvine, Oregon won the match 3-0 as Willow Johnson and Ronika Stone finished with double-digit kills. Stone led the way for the Ducks hitting .769 for the match and finishing with three kills. Stone is the player to watch this season and is adding to an already stellar Oregon Career in volleyball. If the team is going to make the postseason, she will need to help lead the way.

Oregon finished the game with 71 attacks and 7 service aces. Setter Kylie Robinson had 29 of the team’s 34 assists in the match. The Ducks held UC Irvine to a team total 16 points in set two, while holding them to just 13 points in the first and third sets.

The first two sets against Boston College were a little closer, but Oregon was again able to prevail in a 3-0 sweep. Stone and Johnson again led the way for Oregon combining for 27 kills in the match. Brooke Nuneviller had 9 kills and 10 digs in the game as she returned to the Ducks following some International Experience this summer. Setter Kylie Robinson finished with 40 assists and was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for her play over the first two games of the season for the Oregon Ducks.

Oregon now has more than a week to prepare for a series of Top 15 matchups on the road visiting Pittsburgh on Wednesday, September 11th followed by games against 8th ranked Minnesota and 6th ranked Penn State in State College.
