Oregon Football was the only team in the Associated Press top fifteen to lose last week.

The Ducks also fell six spots in the Associated Press poll to 16th, while the Auburn Tigers entered the top ten with their win in the final nine seconds of the game over Oregon. As teams battle for spots throughout the season, the team that wins an early Top 25 matchup will have a spot up on the team they beat.

Oregon has a disadvantage to every other team in the Top 25. In looking close they are the only team ranked last week that lost. With the Ducks loss, other Pac-12 teams took advantage. The Utah Utes and Washington Huskies come in at 13th and 14th respectively. Washington State and Stanford come in at 22 and 23 entering the first partial weekend of Pac-12 play. The Cardinal meets up with the USC Trojans while the Washington Huskies host my conference darkhorse, California.

The Golden Bears enter with one of the best secondaries in the nation and will need to be ready on the road vs Washington.

While the Nevada Wolf Pack had an exciting finish to beat Purdue on a last-second field goal last week, they did not even receive a vote this week in the AP Poll. Arizona State had 4 votes in the poll which was good enough for 35th in the country.

The top five in the AP Poll remained the same with Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.

For Oregon Football, the road ahead is going to be tough to make the College Football Championship. There is not a Pac-12 Conference team inside the top ten of the AP poll, and while it is only week two, there is a very slim chance for Oregon. If Utah and Washington can continue their momentum, Oregon may have to face both before all is said and done. If Oregon can win and also show they beat two conference opponents that were in the top ten when they played, that is a convincing argument.

Oregon is still a few weeks from Pac-12 play and faces Nevada on Saturday at 4:30 pm at Autzen Stadium.
