Oregon Football returns home to Autzen Stadium following a defeat snatched from a victory in the final nine seconds against Auburn. Now the challenge is Nevada.

FINAL – Oregon Ducks Dominate vs Nevada

Quarterback Justin Herbert and Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo should have a gameplan this week for a win over Nevada, but the Wolfpack bring a solid Offensive Line along with a quality Running Back in Toa Taua who could get in the way of the Ducks plans.

More from Autzen Zoo

Oregon Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo was down several key Wide Receivers last week and the corps should get a boost today with the return of Transfer Juwan Johnson, who has been nursing a pulled muscle. His height will give Herbert a large body to throw too. If he is not available, I expect Spencer Webb, who has been moved to Wide Receiver after last week’s performance will be an adequate target, if he is open. There will be one family battle worth keeping an eye on Saturday.

Oregon Offensive Lineman Penei Sewell will likely play opposite his brother, Nevada Defensive Lineman Gabriel Sewell. For us, it is just a side note but I expect the Sewell Family will hopefully be cheering for the player in green and yellow on Saturday.

One thing that stood out to me last week was how stout the Oregon Defense can be. Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos had the right game plan against Auburn last weekend, but the outcome did not fall the Ducks’ way. Avalos will need to have his guys ready. Nevada is good upfront at making holes for their running backs. Last week they had 19 first downs on the ground vs Purdue.

Nevada was also opportunistic late with 14 points off Purdue turnovers.

Oregon Football has won 14 straight home openers and will look to make it 15 this evening at Autzen Stadium Kickoff is set for 4:45 pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Network.
