Oregon Basketball: Anthony Mathis Powers Ducks To Win Over Boise State
Oregon Basketball found their offense early in a 106-75 win over Boise State on Saturday night.
Oregon used a 9-0 run early along with two three-pointers to take a 20-10 lead with just under 12 minutes left in the first half. The Ducks Defense held Boise State to shooting 0 for 7, with most attempts coming from beyond the arc as the team as 0 for 6 over the first ten minutes of the game.
It was a game of runs early as Oregon went cold Boise State found a rhythm hitting a 6-0 run before Chris Duarte hit a three-pointer for the Ducks followed by back to back three-point shots from Anthony Mathis forcing a Boise State timeout. It was a 9-0 run by the Ducks in 44 seconds. Oregon led 31-17 with 7:07 left in the first half. The Ducks were hitting 71 percent from beyond the arc over the first thirteen minutes of the game.

Oregon continued to set the pace and were out-rebounding Boise State 17 to 10 as the teams went to halftime. The Ducks led 48-30 at the break. Boise State it just 8 percent from three-point range in the first half.
The Ducks started the second half as they did the first on a 6-0 run pushing the lead to 54-33. Anthony Mathis hit a three-pointer forcing a timeout. It was clear who had the hot hand. Mathis was 6 for 8 from beyond the arc and led Oregon with 21 points. The teams’ efficiency on offense was also becoming apparent with 19 assists through the first thirty minutes.
For the game, Anthony Mathis finished with 30 points leading four players in double figures. Oregon hit over 70 percent from the floor and over 65 percent from the three-point range. The Ducks also had 25 points off the bench in the 106-75 win.
The Oregon Ducks meet Memphis at the Moda Center in Portland on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 6 pm Pacific Time on ESPN.
