Oregon Football comes off a bye week to face Arizona on Saturday night and the College Football Matrix expects them to take care of business.

Dave Bartoo from the College Football Matrix says that winning for Oregon may not be enough. The College Football Playoff Committee has their eye specifically on game control, “How long does it take you to get a lead and maintain it. This week you are rooting for Auburn. Oregon needs to win their games big. They need to blow people out. When you facing such weak opponents, all it will do is crush your strength of schedule. They are top 30 right now. In a few weeks, they will be outside the top 60.”

Facing non ranked opponents the last three weeks of the regular season will not help Oregon, so winning games and having complete games becomes more important. Oregon is also in a good position coming off their November bye week according to Bartoo, “Last week was the best bye for Oregon. You had two teams in front of you lose.”

More from Autzen Zoo

Entering the week, Oregon Football remains a Top 20 team in scoring efficiency over the last four weeks. Against the Arizona Wildcats, that number should stand up. Arizona is the 127th most efficient scoring team entering the game. Defensively, the big numbers Oregon had over the first six weeks has fallen off a bit. The team is now more Offensively focused to win games, but that should take a turn on Saturday night.

There is one more game to keep an eye on Saturday. Utah will host a UCLA team that has been a juggernaut this season. Utah needs to be aware of UCLA’s talent.

According to Bartoo, talent is always dangerous and despite their struggles this season, this could be a great game. UCLA is top 30 in offensive and defensive scoring efficiency in the last month. Utah is number one in defense, but 60th in offense over the last four weeks. Bartoo has the Utes winning the game, but this is the trap game of the year for the Utes.

Oregon Football hosts Arizona at 7:30 pm Pacific time from Autzen Stadium.
