Oregon Basketball has played three games in three days and despite two losses, the season looks promising.

The Battle 4 Atlantis was a showcase of top teams in the country, and the Oregon Ducks showed they belonged. Oregon lost games against Gonzaga and North Carolina by a combined five points and Senior Payton Pritchard has picked up where he left off from last season when he helped the team pushing the Ducks to a ten-game winning streak into the NCAA Tournament.

While the Freshman class saw considerable playing time over the last three days, there was a lot of experience gained and some mistakes made. After watching the tape, these games can easily be focal points for getting better as the season goes on. Add to that the team chemistry this season’s team already has and it could be a recipe for success entering Pac-12 play.

Against North Carolina, Anthony Mathis was held to just 1 for 6 from three-point range but found 17 points against the Tarheels. Chris Duarte was 6 for 15 from the floor for 16 points. Shakur Juiston has not played his best in the last two games. He missed potential game-winning free throws on Thursday against Gonzaga and was 0 for 5 from the floor vs North Carolina. When you have nine players on the roster, there is not a lot of room for mistakes, and unfortunately, his teammates were not able to bail him out.

As a Senior, Juiston will bounce back and will certainly be a key player for this team for the rest of the season.

Oregon Basketball returns to the court on Saturday, December 7th hosting Hawaii at Matthew Knight Arena. Tipoff is set for 4 pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Network.
