The Oregon Women’s Basketball team has taken care of business in their first two games at the Paradise Jam winning against Oklahoma State and UT Arlington.

UT Arlington watched the Oregon Ducks pull away after the first quarter. The Ducks put up 50 points in the first two quarters taking a 50-24 lead at the break. For the game, Oregon had three players in double figures. Sabrina Ionescu was not among them. She finished the game with 9 points but found her teammates for 10 assists. Ionescu also had 7 rebounds, two on the offensive end. The Oregon Ducks won the game 91-54.

Taylor Chavez is going to be a player to watch this season. She again showed off her skills with 17 points off the bench for Kelly Graves. She was 5 for 9 from three-point range playing just 20 minutes on the floor.

Satou Sabally led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 19 points. Ruthy Hebard had 16 points and 5 rebounds. The Oregon Women’s Basketball team was again efficient on offense hitting 53 percent from the floor vs UT Arlington. Despite 10 turnovers, Oregon was also efficient with 21 assists. Defensively they had 9 steals and 5 blocks.

Oregon will play their third game in three days against 8th ranked Louisville on Saturday to close out the Paradise Jam. Louisville topped Oklahoma State on Friday winning 69-48. Dana Evans is the player to watch for the Cardinal. She finished with a team and career-high 28 points. The Cardinals shot 47 percent from the floor.

One area where Louisville seems vulnerable is with turnovers. Despite 21 turnovers, Oklahoma State was not able to get back into the game.

Aside from Evans, there was no real three-point threat. For the team, there were only five other shots that were attempted. Oregon will likely play Louisville hard inside but can go to pretty much anyone they need to for an outside shot.

Oregon and Louisville tipoff Saturday at 12:15 pm Pacific Time.
