Oregon Football started slow on offense as special teams played a big role in a Civil War win over Oregon State 24-10 on Saturday night.
The Oregon Ducks opened the 2019 Civil war with the ball and on offense. The Ducks Offense was able to get the ball into the red zone and had two series to get into the endzone setting on a 32-yard field goal by Camden Lewis for a 3-0 lead.
Oregon State tied the game at 3 before Mykael Wright ran the ball back 97 yards for a touchdown to push the Ducks lead to 10-3. It was Wright’s second kickoff return for a touchdown this season. Both teams would exchange possessions that resulted in punts before Jevon Holland took another kickoff return 29 yards into Oregon State territory.

Two plays into the series, Justin Herbert threw to Johnny Johnson III for a touchdown to make it 17-3 Oregon.
Justin Herbert was 8 for 17 in the first half with a touchdown. Overall, the Oregon Offense seemed slow and unable to get much going. Oregon State would start with the ball in the second half.
On the opening series of the second half, Oregon State was forced to punt. Oregon would get to the 20-yard line of Oregon State and go for it on fourth down. Ryan Bay was found by Justin Herbert to convert. The Ducks were only able to get to the five-yard line. Camden Lewis missed a chip shot field goal and the score remained 17-3.
The third quarter would come and go without any scoring. To open the 4th Quarter, Oregon State would score on a Jermar Jefferson run with 11 minutes left in the game to make it 17-10 Oregon. While the Ducks had some insurance points winning 24-10 in the end, it was not as dominating as we have seen from Oregon in recent weeks.
Quarterback Justin Herbert was 18 for 130 for 174 yards and a touchdown. Oregon State Backup Quarterback Tristan Gebbia threw for over 200 yards in the loss.
Oregon Football will likely face the Utah Utes in the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday night at 5 pm Pacific Time.
