Oregon Basketball returns home after facing several ranked opponents welcoming a 6-2 experienced Hawaii team to Matthew Knight Arena.

Despite some losses last week in the Battle 4 Atlantis, the Oregon Men’s Basketball team played in some meaningful games and played well against Seton Hall, Gonzaga, and North Carolina. Oregon fell a few spots in the latest Associated Press poll entering the week at 13th. The Ducks welcome another 6-2 team to Matthew Knight Arena in Hawaii. Hawaii brings with them a three-game winning streak scoring just over 70 points per game.

Hawaii is a well-balanced team with athletic players. Senior Eddie Stansburry is the player to watch. He has scored 20 or more points in 5 of the teams’ first 7 games this season. Four starters are averaging double-figure scoring entering the game vs Oregon.

With all that scoring it is not much of a surprise they are hitting better than 75 percent from the floor and over 50 percent from three-point range so far this season. The Ducks are hitting 65 percent from the floor. Both teams average 14 assists per game, but Oregon is slightly better when it comes to turnovers.

For the Oregon Ducks, Anthony Mathis may be the player to watch. After struggling in the Bahamas, he will need to find the basket on Saturday vs Hawaii. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Pritchard and Mathis have some history playing high school basketball together.

The Oregon Freshman class played a big role in the Bahamas with Chandler Lawson, Addison Patterson, and CJ Walker combined for 22 points in the win over Seton Hall. They may be leaned on again vs Hawaii if anyone gets into foul trouble. They showed during the Battle 4 Atlantis that they are capable of handling the pressure.

Oregon and Hawaii tipoff from Matthew Knight Arena at 4 pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Network.
