Oregon Basketball: Ducks Win Pac-12 Regular Season Title, Beat Stanford
The Oregon Ducks needed to beat Stanford to win the Pac-12 Regular Season title outright, and despite a pesky Cardinal team, the Ducks shot 57 percent from the floor for the 80-67 win.
Oregon was looking at winning the regular-season Pac-12 title outright with a win over the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday night and they opened the game with back to back three-pointers.
Just over five minutes into the game, both teams were hitting 75 percent from beyond the arc. Despite it being early Oregon had a 13-9 lead as Oregon was also hitting 83 percent from the floor led by Payton Pritchard who had six points.

Midway through the first half, Stanford had committed six turnovers and the Ducks had turned most of them into 9 points. Payton Pritchard had a scoop and score of his own in the process. Oregon pushed the lead to 10 as Addison Patterson hit a three-pointer with just over 7 minutes left in the first half.
Stanford found ways to make shots, but Oregon led 36-31 at halftime. Payton Pritchard and Will Richardson each had 8 points to lead the Ducks at the break.
The game remained a ten-point game through the first eight minutes of the second half before the Oregon Ducks started to pull away. Addison Patterson hit a three-pointer with just over 10 minutes left in the game giving the Ducks a 57-42 lead.
Stanford continued to fight and with 3:27 left had it back to within 10 points and had the ball after a timeout. The Cardinal continued to push pulling to within 7 before Payton Pritchard drove to the basket forcing a Stanford foul and a three-point play. He hit the shot pushing the lead back to 10. The Ducks then forced a turnover before Stanford fouled Will Richardson who hit two free throws extending the Ducks lead with just over a minute left in the game.
Payton Pritchard hit six free throws in the final minute as Oregon won 80-67. Pritchard finished with 29 and received a standing ovation from the crowd at Matthew Knight Arena as hit his final free throws at home in his career.
The Ducks also won the Pac-12 regular season crown outright with the win and the number one seed in the Pac-12 Tournament next week in Las Vegas.
