The Stanford Cardinal will already be without some key players for their matchup vs Oregon on Saturday Night. Now they will be without their Starting Quarterback.

Quarterback Davis Mills will miss the game due to COVID-19 protocols per a report from ESPN. With Mills out, the start will likely go to Junior Jack West who joined Stanford in 2018. He was a four-star recruit when he was signed by David Shaw. He will be going up against a team that has some momentum.

Oregon Football is coming off a Pac-12 Championship, a Rose Bowl win, and has win 15 of their last 17 games under Head Coach Mario Cristobal. The Ducks are 13-1 at Autzen under Cristobal and 8-1 in Pac-12 games. Over the years, Oregon and Stanford have had some really good games, but the Ducks have been able to take care of business vs Stanford.

The Ducks enter the game with a 15 game win streak in home openers and are averaging better than 50 points per game in that span. Keep in mind, most home openers in season’s past did not feature a conference opponent. Some included teams like Portland State. Others were more competitive with the likes of Michigan State in the first few weeks of the season.

Oregon will need to win all of their games for a chance at the College Football Playoff. With two conference games cancelled due to COVID-19 this weekend, that job may have gotten a little bit harder.

Oregon will look to experience on offense in their run game with CJ Verdell and Travis Dye. They also bring back key pieces at Wide Receiver with Mycah Pittman, Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson III who will all be active vs Stanford. Tyler Shough takes over from Justin Herbert, and I think he will get the start. We will also likely see Anthony Brown on the field.

Oregon and Stanford kickoff at 4:44 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
