The Oregon Women’s Basketball team will look to build momentum leading up to the NCAA Tournament after a loss at home to Oregon State in the regular season finale on Sunday.

For Erin Boley and Lydia Giomi, it was the last appearance at Matthew Knight Arena for their respective careers in a season that has been anything but normal. Oregon lost to Oregon State 88-77 in a hard-fought battle that came down to the final minutes.

Oregon put up 21 points in the first quarter including 10 from their bench. They were limited to 14 and 15 points in the second and third quarters. Oregon State did a good job of limiting the Ducks and finished the game with six players in double figures. Aleah Goodman led the way with 20 points shooting 8 of 13 from the floor and 2 of 3 from distance.

Oregon State found momentum and rode it to the win. Without a crowd to play a part, it was pretty much a home game for the Beavers who shot 50 percent from the floor, 55 percent from three-point range, and put on a clinic hitting better than 95 percent of their free throws hitting 17 of 18 for the game.

On the other side, Oregon was without the services of Te-hina Paopao, who has been a key player for them of late. She is averaging 10 points a game along with just over 4 assists. She also had 27 steals on the season.

For the Ducks, both Taylor Mikesell and Erin Boley had 16 points respectively. The Ducks hit 50 percent from three-point range, but took just 12 shots in the game vs Oregon State. Sedona Prince was impressive with 22 points off 9 of 15 shooting. She was also able to pull down 5 rebounds.

The loss gives the Ducks their 7th loss of the season. They split the season series with Oregon State winning in Corvallis earlier this season. Now, Oregon enters the Pac-12 Tournament. They will be the 4 seed and have earned a first-round bye.

The Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament begins on Wednesday. Oregon will face the winner of Oregon State and Cal on Thursday.
