The Oregon State Beavers played the Oregon Ducks for the second time in a handful of days, beating them twice with solid defense and an offensive effort that Oregon could not figure out.
This season, the Ducks did not have Sabrina Ionecu in the lineup and managed to find the basket in other ways. At times, some players were able to step up, not so much in others. On Thursday Taylor Mikesell and Sedona Prince combined for 40 points for the Ducks in a 71-64 loss vs Oregon State in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament.

It was the second and third quarter that saw the Beavers build their advantage. Oregon State opened things up with 19 points in the second quarter and 31 points in the third quarter. Despite the disadvantage, Oregon battled until the end.
Taylor Mikesell found the basket in the third quarter scoring 9 points of the Ducks 21 in the period. Oregon started to fall apart of the defensive end after a solid first half, allowing 31 points to Oregon State.
Oregon was again without Ta-hina Pao Pao for the game. Mikesell led Oregon with 24 points. Nyara Sabally finished the game with 16 points. Sedona Prince had 8 points in the game. The Ducks had just 5 turnovers in the game. They forced Oregon State into 10 turnovers for the game.
In the end, it was a loss for Oregon, but they fought to keep the game in single digits until the final horn. The Beavers shot 48 percent from the floor for the game and 46 percent from three-point range. OSU was also sharp hitting 73 percent of their free throws in the win.
With the loss, Oregon now has to wait and see where they will land in the seeding of the NCAA Tournament. They will now have a few weeks to get healthy and prepare for the post-season.
