Oregon Women’s Basketball: Ducks Use Inside Game In Win Over Georgia
Texas Native Sedona Price celebrated homecoming with her best game as a Duck. She scored 22 points in a win over Georgia sending Oregon to their fourth straight Sweet 16.
Prince and Nyara Sabally had a big presence inside and took over in the second half of the game. Sabally finished the game with 15 points. She also had 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals vs the Lady Bulldogs. Erin Boley, who had the hot hand against South Dakota hit two of three from distance. Taylor Mikesell had 11 points and was 2 for 4 from three point range.
It was a game that was tight early and a defensive effort. Both teams took the better part of the first half to figure things out. The game was tied at 27 at the break before Oregon jumped put to a slim 7 point lead in the third quarter. That would be the difference in the game in the end as Oregon won 57-50.

Last season, Head Coach Kelly Graves had the luxury of players that had chemistry in that most had played together for years. They were also among the best players ever to wear an Oregon uniform. Enter the game on Wednesday and it was a different picture. Lydia Giomi and Erin Boley were the two returning players from last season. The rest were new faces. Sedona Prince was watching last season and this season she is a difference-maker on the court.
This team has found a way to play together at the right time. Graves always finds a way to get the best out of his players when he needs to and that happened again vs Georgia. The Lady Bulldogs did not have much of a second-half answer for the Ducks screen plays and inside passes for baskets for Prince and Sabally.
The Oregon Ducks will have both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams in the Sweet 16. Oregon has knocked out an 11 seed and a 3 seed and will set their sights on 2 Seed Louisville this weekend.
