Dan Lanning's recruiting prowess continues to shine brightly as the Ducks' offseason unfolds. With top-tier recruits coming in from the class of 2025 to one of the best transfer portal classes in the country, Oregon is sitting pretty ahead of the upcoming season.
Most recently, Lanning landed a commitment from former USC offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon who was a star for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans.
Over one season for the USC Trojans and one season for the Wyoming Cowboys, Pregnon allowed zero sacks by his opponents on a resounding 1,066 pass attempts. Before committing to the Ducks, Pregnon was reportedly between Oregon, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Texas Longhorns.
Pregnon, who wasn't a blue-chip prospect coming out of high school, has been ranked as a four-star transfer prospect with a 93 overall grade, making him the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the portal this season.
The offensive lineman transferred to USC after his freshman season with the Cowboys in hopes of continuing to boost his future NFL Draft stock. Now, Pregnon hopes to continue that growth as he enters a season with Lanning and the Ducks, who are coming off of a 12-0 regular season, a Big Ten Championship win, and an appearance in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoffs.
Earlier this offseason, Lanning earned a commitment from former USC defensive lineman Bear Alexander, who started his career with Lanning's old boss Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Currently, the Ducks' 2025 transfer portal class is ranked as a top-10 group in the nation, according to 247Sports, alongside Lanning's No. 4 class of 2025 high school recruiting class.
Oregon is set to kick off its 2025 football season at home against the Montana State Bobcats on Aug. 30. The Bobcats are coming off an appearance in the FCS Championship game, where they lost 35-32 against the North Dakota State Bison.
