Dillon Gabriel earned history on Saturday, named Maxwell semifinalist on Tuesday
By Sam Fariss
Dillon Gabriel is a man on a mission. Not only is the Oregon quarterback one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy, the newly minted NCAA all-time leader in total touchdowns, and the leader of the No. 1 team in the country, but he is also a Maxwell Award Semifinalist.
After breaking Case Keenum's record for total touchdowns on Saturday, Gabriel was the talk of the nation as were his undefeated (10-0) Oregon Ducks.
Now, Gabriel is one of 16 players who has earned the honor of being a finalist for the annual Maxwell Award, which is "presented to the most outstanding collegiate player of the year."
Gabriel is one of 10 quarterbacks on the list of semifinalists alongside QBs like Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Texas' Quinn Ewers, and Miami's Cam Ward.
