The Oregon Ducks have been on a recruiting tear as they brought in a top-five class of 2025 prospects and currently have the No. 1 class of 2026 recruits in the nation. However, as more and more five-star players commit to head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks, a few lower-rated blue-chip prospects are looking to head elsewhere to secure their playing time.
Most recently, a few experts predicted that four-star quarterback prospect Jonas Williams would flip his commitment from Oregon to the USC Trojans. Many are saying this is most likely because the Ducks are appearing as frontrunners in the recruitment process of five-star QB Jared Curtis.

Williams, who initially committed to Oregon on Aug. 3, 2024, is the No. 7 quarterback in the class, according to On3 while Curtis is the No. 1 QB and the No. 4 overall athlete in the class of 2026.

Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong are both recruiting experts for On3 and only logged the prediction with 60 percent certainty, according to the site's social media post on X. However, as the Ducks' recruitment of Curtis continues to unfold, that confidence level may continue to rise.
Curtis is scheduled to visit Lanning and the Ducks on June 6, just one week before he visits the Georgia Bulldogs and just two weeks before he visits the South Carolina Gamecocks.
As Oregon flies toward the 2025 season, the Ducks are projected to start veteran quarterback Dante Moore, who transferred from UCLA in 2024. Lanning and the Ducks are scheduled to kick off their upcoming season on Aug. 30 against the Montana State Bobcats.
