[To the tune of Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival] Good news keeps on rolling, Dan Lanning keeps on turning... new recruits into Oregon Ducks.
The latest, big-time announcement for the Ducks was when five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell announced that Lanning had impressed him more than any other head coach in the nation, following the report that the OT had scheduled an official visit with Oregon.

“I think my favorite head coach still to this day has been Dan Lanning. I think everyone can understand. Great guy. Missouri guy."🦆

Cantwell will also visit the Ohio State Buckeyes, Miami Hurricanes, Missouri Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Michigan Wolverines but has expressed continuous and adamant interest in the Ducks. The compliment that he directed towards Lanning is a huge tip of the cap for the Oregon head coach.
Throughout its history, the Ducks have had a difficult time recruiting players from the south, an area that has long been dominated by the SEC and the Big 12. However, when Lanning took over the program in Eugene, his ties to the South and his experience within the SEC quickly began paying off when it came to his recruiting efforts.
Cantwell is the latest blue-chip prospect to express interest in Oregon over programs in the ACC and SEC that are significantly closer to home. Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis and a handful of other prospects have turned their attention to that team out west during their recruiting processes.
Cantwell is scheduled to take his official visit to Eugene on June 20, the last OV he has scheduled for the summer of 2025. The six programs that he plans to visit are the final six under his consideration for his future team.
