Last weekend, the Oregon Ducks kicked off official visit season as Dan Lanning and the staff brought a loaded group of recruits to campus. The weekend brought the Ducks one commitment from elite linebacker Toa Satele, while it appeared that there was a ton of progress made with other targets. While you want to leave every official visit weekend with several commitments, it's also about making progress in recruitments.
Leaving the first weekend of official visits, the Ducks looked to be rounding into place for several commitments, but just a week later it looks like Dan Lanning and the staff may need to go back to the drawing board.
Oregon LB target Drew Williams commits to Kentucky
On Sunday, 3-star linebacker recruit Drew Williams announced that he was committing to Kentucky, jus a week after he took his official visit to Eugene.

The news of Drew Williams picking Kentucky comes as a bit of a surprise as it looked like the Ducks put themselves in a great place. After visiting Eugene, Drew Williams said the following to Rivals' Max Torres.
"They want me and I'm a priority. They're going to develop me and they're gonna make me the best football player that I could possibly be."Drew Williams
The commitment to Kentucky marks a win for Will Stein over his former boss Dan Lanning as the first year head coach is showing promise early on leading the Wildcats.
Sunday hasn't been kind to the Oregon Ducks as several visitors the staff felt great about just a week ago have since committed elsewhere. Williams has now picked Kentucky, and elite edge rusher KJ Green picked the LSU Tigers after declaring that the Ducks "broke the bar" in his recruitment.
The good news for the Oregon football team is that the staff has already built a loaded linebacker class. Toa Satele, Brandon Lockley Jr, and Sam Ngata is an elite haul at the position, and the group could get even more crowded. Oregon leads for 4-star LB Brayton Feister, who will visit later this month, and hopefully shut down his recruitment.
The hope now for the staff, as they wrap up their second weekend of official visits, should be to shut down some of the recruits on campus. Dakota Guerrant is the top target for the Ducks, while a recruit like in-state TE George VanSandt would make a perfect addition to this class, allowing the staff to start focusing elsewhere.
