The Oregon Ducks continue to dominate the world of recruiting as Dan Lanning and his staff have found their team on the shortlist of Jackson Cantwell's final schools under consideration. The five-star-plus offensive tackle is projected as one of the top prospects in the class of 2026 and he included the Ducks in his final six schools.

Alongside Oregon on Cantwell's list are the Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Miami Hurricanes, Missouri Tigers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Despite only being a junior in high school, at 6-foot-8 and 315 pounds Cantwell already has the size of a collegiate offensive lineman, if not the size of one at the professional level. To put it simply, the kid is massive and nearly impossible to bypass.

Already, the incoming group of Oregon commits from the class of 2026 has the team sitting atop the nation with eight 4-star prospects and two 3-star prospects looking to become future Ducks.

Lanning has dominated the recruiting world since taking over the program in 2022. With a top-four class of 2025 and one of the best incoming transfer portal classes, the Ducks are looking sound for years to come.

On Monday, Feb. 3, the spring recruiting dead period began and would last until March 2. During a dead period, coaches and staff cannot be in contact with potential players and recruits.

"During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. In other words, coaches are not allowed to talk to recruits at their college campus, the athlete’s school, an athletic camp, or even the grocery store," says the NCSA (Next College Student Athlete).

As soon as the dead period ends in March, Lanning and the rest of his staff can continue their recruiting processes with prospects across the country.
