Jesse Zarzuela – who transferred to Oregon in 2023, played in five games for the Ducks before suffering a season-ending injury, and has yet to see the court in 2024 – has entered the transfer portal once again after struggling to find his footing in Eugene.
Last season, Zarzuela suffered an ankle injury that needed subsequent surgery to repair the damage, sidelining the transfer for the remainder of Oregon's season.
Now, the grad student is back in the portal and looking to find his fourth collegiate home. Zarzuela began his collegiate basketball career in 2021 at Coppin State before transferring to Central Michigan in 2022 and eventually Oregon in 2023.
Throughout his time in college, Zarzuela has played in just 42 total games. The guard has averaged 14.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game throughout his career. During his short stint for the Ducks, Zarzuela averaged 10.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
Zarzuela is the first player on Dana Altman's roster to enter their name into the transfer portal after Altman secured commitments from JJ Frakes in the class of 2025 as well as gaining interest from multiple blue-chip recruits in the class.
So far this season, Altman and the Ducks have gone 10-1 through their first 11 games and have earned a place as the No. 10 in the country after upsetting then-No. 20 Texas A&M and then-No. 9 Alabama during the Players Era Festival tournament.
The Ducks will be back in action, after a week-long hiatus, against the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. PT on the Big Ten Network.
